Results 2014

Once again we are delighted with our examination results. 76% of our Y11 leavers have achieved 5A* - C including English and Maths. This is an excellent performance given this year of turbulent GCSE examinations brought about by last minute government changes to examination standards and performance table regulations. As always the progress our students have made from joining us at Y7 to leaving at Y11 is phenomenal. I am really proud of our students' success which is due to their hard work and the dedication and commitment of our staff. I am also very grateful for the support of our parents and governors. I wish our Y11 leavers every success and happiness in the future.

Information on Lexia Reading

We are an 11 – 16 mixed comprehensive of around 900 students and 110 staff situated to the west of Wigan. We are a community of students, staff, parents and governors with a common goal. We strive for the highest standards in everything we do.

We are proud of our positive, caring ethos based on a set of expectations we call ‘The Hawkley Way’ which has a fundamental principle at its heart; the principle of mutual respect. The students themselves coined the phrase in our code of conduct, "Treat other people with respect to be respected in turn”.

We believe this principle is essential for our happy and successful school community.
